Despite the uncertainty and challenges brought by Covid-19, EVPA has shown remarkable resilience. We swiftly converted all our activities into online formats –including all its training courses and its flagship Annual Conference. We also maintained our efforts to collaborate with our members on research and policy projects, such as the Industry Survey, a series of interviews on Just Transition, and case studies on strategic alignment.
In September Roberta Bosurgi joined us as our new CEO, and Steven Serneels became the Chair of EVPA. While our overall membership base slightly decreased, we welcomed 36 new members. In addition, 83% of our members confirmed that their knowledge in various fields deepens thanks to our work.
2020 was also a year of strong collaborations, as we engaged in several initiatives with various partners –such as Unitus Europe, the COVID Response Alliance for Social Entrepreneurs, and the Global Hub (together with our IVPC sister organisations AVPN, Latimpacto and AVPA). And last but not least, we strengthened our relations with the European Commission (DG EMPL, DG GROW) and the EIB, and initiated a new five-year partnership with DG NEAR to raise awareness and promote social innovation and social entrepreneurship in the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries and Russia.
