100,000 better lives by Erste Group Social Banking

Erste Group Social Banking has been helping vulnerable people, social organizations, and micro entrepreneurs since 2016 and contributes significantly to the improvement of prosperity in Austria and the CEE region. This is confirmed in the Annual Report 2022 which was recently published.

In 2022 Social Banking disbursed a volume of EUR 60 million loans to 10,000 customers who would otherwise not have received financing.  In addition, it provided trainings to 14,000 clients to support them in improving their financial situation.

In total since the launch of Social Banking in 2016 more than 100,000 people have been helped and a total of almost half a billion Euros in loans have been disbursed.

This is confirmed by the strong commitment of Erste Group to be a transformative force for a better future: provide by Social Banking by 2030 in total EUR 1 billion loans and support the creation and preservation of 200,000 jobs in Austria and the CEE region.
