The Research Working Group of the EMN created the Electronic Research Bulletin (eRB) in recognition of the need for a benchmark publication on microfinance related research at the European level. This issue looks at what research tells us about the sustainability of a small and micro enterprises served by a combination of funding and business development (or support) services (BDS). Results suggest that in order for non-financial services to be effective, they must be accessible, tailor-made and affordable.
