ACAF Asociación de Comunidades Autofinanciadas is a Spanish NGO created in 2004. In this document, we present their idea of linking the local SIGs: self-funded communities together with small entrepreneurship to fight poverty. Both practices have their shortcomings, but the idea of combining the two methodologies results in a comprehensive model that combines the strengths of both models. The article assesses the implementation of the project as well as its innovativeness and replicability.
