The impact of Microfinance as Active Inclusion Strategy

Microfinance is widely seen as improving livelihoods, reducing vulnerability and fostering social as well as economic empowerment. This EMN debate has provided a timely opportunity to discuss the various ways active inclusion can be encouraged by encouraging access to savings, to credit or to financial assistance, reducing the possibility of falling into the poverty trap and, therefore, showing how vulnerable people could benefit in some way from microfinance.
