Empowerment through Financial Access

Publication Good practices

Turkish Grameen Microfinance Program (TGMP) is a private, non-profit MFI founded in 2004 through a joint venture between TISVA and the Grameen Trust. The program is the leading provider of financial services to women living in poverty throughout Turkey and aims to empower them through financial access. This Good Practice highlights the TGMP partnerships with banks as an additional source of funding and provides an excellent example of what can be achieved when financial structures work together. Considering that women only make up 25% of the Turkish work force, this project gains even more relevance in the county's context.
