Shortly after the Romanian Microfinance Association, we are delighted to announce that Swedish financial institution Mikrofonden was approved as an EMN member.
Mikrofonden was founded in 2010 by the cooperative bank Ekobanken, the cooperative start-up consultancy organisation Coompanion, and the Swedish Village action group network Rural Sweden. Their first investing member was a trade union. Mikrofonden is a financial institution and a consortium consisting of one national fund and eight regional microfunds.
Mikrofonden strives for social economy organisations in Sweden to become financially included through access to financial services and microcredit delivered by Mikrofonden. As such, the institution contributes to a thriving third sector with good conditions for development and social innovation.
