Are ethical and sustainable banks financially sound? And how do they perform compared to mainstream banks? What role can ethical and sustainable banks play in promoting the inclusive and sustainable growth of the EU?

Banca Etica, Fondazione Finanza Etica and Fundación Finanzas Éticas are pleased to invite you to attend the presentation of the 2nd Report on Ethical and Sustainable Finance in Europe. The event is designed as an opportunity to present the figures and impact of the sector- also by comparing with the traditional finance - and future scenario.

The report compares the performance and solidity of European ethical and sustainable banks with those of European systemic banks. Through updated figures, the report shows that ethical banks are financially sounder than systemic ones and haven’t suffered significant losses during the last financial crisis.

The event will also be an opportunity to discuss the most relevant regulatory initiatives in favour of ethical and sustainable banks and investments in Europe, namely, for example, the EU Action Plan on Sustainable Finance.

The presentation of the 2nd Report on Ethical and Sustainable Finance in Europe will be held at the European Parliament, 6th February 2019, and the discussion will be enriched by relevant stakeholders and policymakers.

The event is organised in collaboration with the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Fabio Massimo Castaldo, the President of the ECON Committee at the European Parliament, Roberto Gualtieri, and the Head of S&D Italian Delegation, Patrizia Toia.

The conference will be the place where discussing recent the EU initiatives in favor of ethical and sustainable finance with Valdis Dombrovskis, Vice-President European Commission, and relevant stakeholders and MEPs. The final programme will be published in the next days.

The report compares the performance and solidity of Eu- ropean ethical and sustainable banks with those of Eu- ropean systemic banks. Through updated figures, the report shows that ethical banks are financially sounder than systemic ones and haven’t suffered significant losses during the last financial crisis. Furthermore, eth- ical and sustainable banks provide citizens with a great opportunity: playing a leading role in building a more cohesive, inclusive and supportive Europe
